Converting your Red ‘Trained Operator’ Card to a Blue ‘Competent Operator’ Card As you are no doubt aware, your red “Trained Operator Card” will expire after 2 years of it being issued. During this time you are expected to achieve a full Plant Operations NVQ in the categories held, which will then allow you to apply to convert to a blue “Competent Operator” card.
