Banksman training ensures that companies meet their legal requirements and reduce the risk of expensive accidents when carrying out reversing manoeuvres. Every year a number of fatalities and serious injuries occur on company sites and this course trains to reverse vehicles safely.

At the end of this course delegates will achieve the competencies required to:

• Reverse vehicles safely, either individually or as part of a team
• Carry out HGV reversing operations in a competent way
• Reduce the risk of injury to staff and members of the public
• Reduce the damage to vehicles and property caused by reversing vehicles

The course is aimed at any banks-man responsible for assisting in the manoeuvring and loading and uploading of vehicles.

Knowing and understanding the roles of the vehicle driver and the banksman in reversing operations

• Identification of areas of danger within sites
• Understanding the key issues arising from reversing and manoeuvring
• Identification of the areas of danger from reversing vehicles
• Demonstration of recommended HSE codes of signals and reversing procedures

All delegates will receive course handouts and a certificate of achievement.
